T4RAIL IT-SI Project

Due to its activities in Slovenia and its vocation for the management and development of international transport, particularly on the Mediterranean corridor, InRail is participating in the T4RAIL IT-SI project for more efficient cross-border rail transport. 

The two-year project responds to one of the common challenges of the cross-border area identified in the Italy-Slovenia Programme Document: the lack of integration of national and regional transport systems and the lack of cross-border infrastructure and mobility solutions, with, among other problems, bottlenecks due to traffic congestion in the area.

In this context, the T4RAIL IT-SI project aims to promote the creation of cross-border networks, the capitalisation of R&D results and digitisation as a transversal objective also for the cross-border transport sector, in order to improve its efficiency, with a tangible impact on both freight and passenger transport at regional, national and international level. 

In addition to InRail, 7 project partners (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, SŽ-Infrastruktura d.o.o., Rail Cargo Carrier Italy Srl, Rail Cargo Slovenija d.o.o., Università degli Studi di Trieste, Univerza v Ljubljani - Fakulteta za pomorstvo in promet and SŽ-Tovorni promet d.o.o.) and 6 associated project partners are involved.
